The guided tour will take you through our mashing, fermentation, and distillation halls, explaining how we operate seed to spirit, all under one roof. For Kerr’s Gin, you’ll discover how the Carter Head still uses vapour infusion, gently passing spirit vapours through a basket of botanicals rather than boiling them directly in the liquid. This traditional but rarely used method allows for a cleaner, more delicate expression of flavour, letting each botanical shine without overpowering the spirit.

Along the way, you’ll gain insight into how our production choices influence aroma, mouthfeel, and taste – not just for Kerr’s Gin, but across our wider spirits range, including our Scotch whisky and Puffing Billy Steam Vodka. The tour concludes in our distillery bar, where you’ll have the opportunity to sample Kerr’s Gin and explore its flavour profile.

Unlike many distilleries, photography is welcomed throughout the tour. We actively encourage it—the natural light from our glass ceilings creates striking views across the still house and production areas, offering plenty of memorable moments to capture.

Every drop of Kerr’s Gin is made from Scottish Borders barley, with every grain grown within 35 miles of the distillery. Our long-term partnerships with local farmers give us complete control over the creation of our spirit, from barley to bottle.
